I get to indulge in all the geeky fun things that I would get strange looks for if I didn’t have P. Like my giggling and clapping with glee when my P’s butterfly larvae were delivered a few minutes ago. My parents don’t even comment because they think I’m excited for P (and I am) but I would have totally got them even if I didn’t have P. He doesn’t know anything about them because 4 year olds are not known for their patients and I was just wondering yesterday if I needed to contact somebody because it was taking forever but he will be just as excited as me. Of course the wait for them to turn into butterflies will be excruciating for him.

I want to buy him a telescope so he can check out the stars. We did glow in the dark constellations on the walls around his bed. I have him a microscope tucked away for christmas. That should be fun for him.

We are going to the circus tonight too. P got a free ticket, which is a total gimmick because kids have to be accompanied by a paying adult. No more than 2 kids per adult. So they are guaranteed somebody is buying a ticket. I bought my ticket online and it was pretty cheap so for an hour (ish) this evening we will be at the big top. I hope he likes it better than the air show and the last 45 minutes of an hour long train ride.

I’ve only been to the circus once before and that was almost 20 years ago. I got to ride on an elephant then. I don’t think they still do that do they? I seem to recall some rampaging elephants a while back.  I was right up front so I petted his/her head. That is the only thing that I remember about the circus. Maybe P will get to do something that he can remember. If not maybe he will at least enjoy doing something out of the ordinary for us.

I’m gonna go find the perfect spot for our little critters to hang out in.
